 A Course in Intrapartum Nursing 

The fundamental course is designed for nurses with minimal experience in fetal monitoring (1 year or less). The advanced course is designed for nurses who have developed a professional practice that utilizes fetal monitoring interpretation skills. Illinois programs are partially funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The AWHONN Courses are not introductory level courses and require a minimum of 6 months experience interpreting fetal monitor tracings. A separate flyer will be sent out and available online for the AWHONN programs.

Accreditation

SSM Health St. Mary’s Fetal Monitoring Class (both Advanced and Fundamentals) are approved for 5.5 contact hours or 5.5 CME credit hours.

AWHONN provides 8 contact hours (or 6 CME credits) for their advanced fetal monitoring class.

SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - St. Louis is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. A minimum of five contact hours are available.
